Think,  If someone had an awesome experience with your business suppose you have a restaurant , they might have gone out and told a handful of their friends and family members. Past research found a satisfied customer, on average, would tell 5 to 10 of their friends.  Basically, word-of-mouth used to be fairly limited. He posted a review on your facebook page or tweet about  you on twitter or share the experience on google plus or other social media channels. There are huge network of peoples  and  thousands of them are knowing  you by social media.

If  You have any unsatisfied customers then you may see the spread of negative reviews about their products or services as a bad thing on social media, By utilizing social media effectively, you can easly reach out to dissatisfied customers directly, within your own social media environment, to find innovative ways of improving the product or service you have on offer.

When creating a social media marketing strategy, it is worth thinking very carefully about targeted audience. There will be people within your social networks who may not necessarily be customers, but who nevertheless can have a massive impact on your marketing efforts. A research showed that social media just had 1.55 percent of all e-commerce traffic. It does not means that social media does not effect  on business  but the social media marketers failed to understand how to use and optimize social media channels in their respective businesses. If social media does not help directly on conversion/leads  of business but it helps on SEO and becoming a Brand.
